Gourmia Air Fryer Oven Recall 2026: 175,951 GTF7530 Units, How to Check Yours and Get a Free Doorstop Kit

Gourmia recalled about 175,951 GTF7530 9-slice air fryer ovens after 40 burn reports. Here’s how to check the model, stop using it, and get the free doorstop repair kit.

If you bought a stainless-steel Gourmia 9-slice digital air fryer oven at Target, check the model number on the back before you cook another meal. On Nov. 5, 2026, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that Gourmia is recalling about 175,951 of these countertop ovens because the spring-loaded French doors can slam shut when bumped, burning people who are pulling out hot food. The company is mailing a free repair kit with a doorstop; until that kit is installed, the agency says to stop using the oven.

Countertop air fryer ovens have become a default weeknight tool for roasting vegetables, reheating leftovers and crisping frozen food without firing up a full-size range. Here’s how to tell whether yours is included, what the remedy covers, and a few kitchen-safety habits that still matter after the doorstop is on.

What was recalled and why

The recall covers the Gourmia Stainless Steel Digital 9-Slice Digital Air Fryer Oven, model GTF7530, UPC 810002862779. The units are stainless steel with two spring-loaded glass French doors and metal handles. CPSC recall number: 27-069.

According to the CPSC, the doors “can unexpectedly close when bumped, posing a burn hazard to consumers retrieving hot food.” Gourmia has received 57 reports of doors closing unexpectedly while people retrieved food, resulting in 40 burn incidents involving hands or wrists.

A Nov. 5 roundup from BadPD and matching notices republished by New York’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services track the same identifiers and remedy: match the model and UPC before assuming any other Gourmia air fryer is included. The brand sells many models; this notice names GTF7530 only.

How to identify an affected oven

  • Look for model number GTF7530 on the packaging or on the label on the back of the unit.
  • Confirm UPC 810002862779 on the packaging when you still have the box.
  • On the back label, the model number appears with codes in the range 3021 to 0126.
  • Visually, the recalled ovens have two spring-loaded glass French doors with metal handles — not a single drop-down door or a basket-style air fryer.

If the model number does not match, this particular recall does not apply. Keep the receipt or a photo of the back label anyway; kitchen appliance recalls often arrive years after purchase.

Where and when they were sold

The ovens were sold at Target stores nationwide and Target.com from October 2021 through June 2026 for about $150, according to the CPSC. They were manufactured in China and imported by The Steelstone Group LLC, doing business as Gourmia, of Brooklyn, New York.

How to get the free repair kit

  1. Stop using the oven immediately if it matches model GTF7530. Unplug it, let it cool fully, and store it where no one will turn it on by habit.
  2. Confirm the model and codes on the back label (GTF7530 and codes 3021–0126) or the UPC on the box.
  3. Contact Gourmia for the free mailed repair kit. Call toll-free 888-834-0092 Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or visit gourmia.com/recall.asp (or Gourmia.com and use the “Recall Information” link at the top of the page).
  4. Install the doorstop using the instructions in the kit before you cook with the oven again. The kit is designed to keep the French doors from closing unexpectedly when bumped.

The published remedy is a repair, not an automatic refund or replacement. Follow Gourmia’s instructions for the kit; do not assume a store credit unless the company later expands the offer.

Kitchen habits that reduce burn risk while you wait

Even after the doorstop arrives, countertop ovens still run hot enough to injure skin in a second. A few habits cut risk on any French-door or drop-down model.

Give hot pans a clear path

Before you open the doors, clear the counter in front of the oven so a tray has somewhere to land. Use dry oven mitts that cover the wrists — several of the reported burns involved hands or wrists while retrieving food. Never brace a door open with a utensil or towel; that is how spring-loaded doors get bumped into closing.

Unplug when you’re done for the night

Countertop appliances left plugged in stay one accidental press away from heating up. Unplugging after the last cook also makes it obvious the unit is out of service while you wait for a recall kit. Keep kids and pets out of the landing zone

French doors swing into the space where you’re standing. Mark a “hot zone” during cooking — especially if toddlers help in the kitchen — and park pet bowls away from the counter edge.
